Before the veil opened, Fray Zacharias “Czyre” de San Andrés and Fray Elias “Elai” de Santo Domingo were two Dominican friars serving in a quiet church compound filled with ancient books, Spanish-era records, and sealed archive rooms. Czyre is imaginative, curious, and brave enough to believe that some mysteries are more than stories. Elai is analytical, protective, and skilled in old texts, forgotten records, Latin writings, and historical manuscripts. During a storm, a damaged manuscript connected to a friar who disappeared centuries ago reveals a warning beside the image of a broken moon. Then the old church bell rings on its own.
